It has happened to the best of us, that we have forgotten passwords of our email accounts, etc. In case that happens, we ask for a new password to be sent to an alternative email address. However, if you have forgotten iPod touch password, then where do we ask for the password to be sent? Well there is no provision, with which a new password can be sent over to you. In that case, you will have to take some measures, if you indeed have forgotten your iPod touch password. Now let's find an answer to the question, what to do if you forget iPod touch password.
step 1.
The first step is to plug your iPod touch to your PC or Mac with the USB cable. In other words, for when you do not have your laptop computer with you, you will not be able to go through the process now.
Now hold the sleep/wake button and the menu button on the iPod at the same time.
Keep the buttons pressed, till you see the 'restore' screen on the iPod touch.
The restore screen will have an iPod cable and an iTunes disc symbol.
When the restore screen appears, release the buttons.
With this iTunes will display iPod touch.
At the same time, there will be a message displayed, that the iPod touch is in recovery mode.
You will now have to click on the 'Restore' button in iTunes to restore iPod touch.

step 2.

To restore the password, you will have to plug the iPod touch to your computer.
Then navigate your way to 'My Computer'.
Now go to the drive, which is your iPod's drive.
The next step is to go to the Tools Menu.
In the Tools Menu, go to Folder options, then to View Tab, followed by Check Show.
The previous step will enable, you to view the hidden folders in the iPod.
Find the folder 'iPod_Control', followed by the folder 'Device'.
You will come across a file named '_locked'.
Change the name of the said file to '_unlocked'.
Once the step is executed, you will be able to use your iPod touch.
